Hounded

They’ve been pestering me for ages, for years, but I have always stood firm and said “No”.

But the badgering never abated.

It continued on relentlessly, until, eventually, I capitulated.

The pressure on me was too much. Browbeaten to the point of surrender, I caved in and agreed that now was about the right time.

Now we are mature enough as a family, to cope with the rigours and responsibility that such ownership brings.

We’re getting a dog.

  1. LUV IT, LUV IT, LUVIT.
It was only a matter of time. A dog and an old ham go together. I should know.
Who uttered the last words that made you cave in.
Pets at Home do a good deal on black poo bags.
and finally……what breed are you thinking of getting.

Can’t wait to see all the other replies on this.

    1. I don’t know who it was, who finally persua… yes, I do. It was Mrs M, of course.

Pets At Home has already received several visits from ‘er indoors. She is almost like their number one customer already – and we haven’t even got the mutt yet.

  2. Please let it be a proper dog and not an overgrown rodent that Mrs M can carry in her handbag! I vote for an Airedale Terrier!

    1. No, it won’t be a chihowh… a chiwoww… it won’t be a dog I can’t spell.

But yes, I reckon I can probably get a couple of thousand words out of it over the next six months. 🙂

  3. Are you all aware that you have to pick the s**t up after it? It makes me heave just thinking about it!

  4. Excellent. I have a nearly 4 yr old mini schnauzer…just the right size and lovely temperament…most of the time!
What are you getting? ( My dog groomer knows someone with several litters of cockapoo .)

    1. Yay indeed.

We have bought a German Shepherd.

We’re hoping he’s going to bring his dog with him.

    1. Yes, I like Labs and Retrievers.
But having previously owned a German Shepherd – who really couldn’t have been a better dog – we thought we’d try another.
Another deciding factor was Amelia, who just loves GS dogs.

Rio is in a class of his own 🙂
