Harry has gone to camp this weekend with his Beaver troop. Beavers are likkle Scouts and they are staying at a proper Scout camp.
This is the Kit List that he has been told to take:
Sleeping Bag
Blanket
Hanger to put uniform on
Pillow
Spare Trousers
T-Shirts
Shorts
Jumpers
Underwear
Socks
Pyjamas
Wash Kit (Soap, Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Flannel, etc)
Towel
Sun Cream
Sun Hat
Waterproof Coat
Trainers or Outdoor Footwear
Slippers or Indoor Footwear
Torch
Plastic Bag (for dirty clothes)
Teddy Bear
Being autumn, I didn’t bother putting in the sun hat and cream, but I managed to squeeze the rest of it all into a rucksack and one of those big Sports Direct bag-for-life jobbies. It was quite funny to watch him struggling to carry it all.
He’s only gone for one night.

Hang on… he was told to take a teddy bear?
C’mon, he’s only 7.
Oh, bless the little mite! I have an image of him with a huge bag and dragging his teddy bear. Sweet.
Erm – clothes hanger???
Boy, Wash Kit, One Night. Why??
Toffeeapple – the clothes hanger is in the optimistic, yet totally vain, hope that his Beaver uniform will be neatly hung up rather than thrown in a heap on the floor.
Dotski – Yep, I know. You could say the same about the underwear.
Gordon Bennett, I pack less than that for a week away. He could turn his underwear inside out instead of taking a clean pair.
Bless him though ….. was he looking forward to his adventure?
OK, I’ll let him have the teddy bear as he’s only 7.
